Bahama Mama!

This is me the Bahama Mama :) Soaking in the sunset on the top deck of our cruise ship!...that's right folks, Rob and I went on a cruise to the Bahamas...ALONE...NO KIDS! I have never left he boys before so this was HUGE... I was so very paranoid before we left writing wills and farewell letters etc...I know that's weird... but I thought what if we went down in a fiery ball of burning plane! I was very nervous to say the least, I sobbed all the way to the airport! But our wonderful family took excellent care of the boys...they may have had more fun than we did! We flew to Miami, then boarded the ship and went to Key West, Nassau- Bahamas, and Coco Cay. It was way too much fun, but it did make me realize and appreciate my beautiful boys, they drive me crazy sometimes but I could never live without them!

Key West indulging in THE BEST key Lime pie EVER! In fact indulging would be a great word to describe most of that vacation! Ate way too much delicious food, slept in stayed up late...or went to bed early, I got to eat meals undisturbed without cooking the meals, without wiping grubby hands without cleaning up spills and crumbs!!! That alone was great!

Summer in a nutshell
So I have not been a blogger this summer...because I just didn't want to! We have been busy livin' instead of bloggin' which is a good thing, if you ask me :) So here is a little recap of some of our summer highlights...and lowlights.
I turned the big 28! Don't I look excited about it :) actually if you want to know the truth Rob snapped this picture of me while we were waiting to take family pictures, so that crazed look you see is me about to go ape! Two little boys hair done in clean cute outfits, trying to stay clean while waiting for the photographer at a park...with dirt and grass and rocks, and water, and me sweating, and threatening terrible things, and cleaning off muddy hands and shoes...anyway, this was just after I decided that it would be a better idea to wait inside the car...with them strapped... in their car seats...with the AC on full blast (which is why my hair is frizzed.) Just in case you were wondering.
Rob celebrated the big 31! And that hideous cake is his favorite HUGE chocolate cake...made with love...by Costco.
We celebrated 8 years of marital bliss together. But our real celebration is when we go on our cruise in October to the Bahamas! ALONE!!! that is unless I freak out and cancel it because I am certain I can't leave my babies.
The boys climbing trees...see that cutie patootie on the right? Well he should have come to earth sheathed in bubble wrap. Seriously. Injured his hip (while I was away at girls camp!) and couldn't walk for 2 weeks. (don't ever slide down a slide with your kids--my husband learned the hard way.) Cut his EYEBALL... on a book...WHAT??!! Fell and ripped his entire pinky nail off completely down past the cuticle!!Not to mention all the bonks and band aids in between. I am telling you every second of every day is a perilous journey for that little tank of a boy!
I ran a 1/2 marathon with my sis-in-law and LIVED!! Here we are in all our sweaty glory after the race!
Don't judge the looks, this is at the finish line...

My cute Gavin at Alpine days Rodeo doing the mutten bust. Really I have never laughed so hard in my life! I know it looks like child abuse or something but he really wanted to do it! and he won a cowboy boot cup full of gumballs! thats worth a little dirt in the face right??
The boys are getting to better friends, and better enemies :)
but I loves em anyway!
Headed down south and visited family in Vegas and St. George. Had to get a picture of the random HUGE chair in good old Beaver on the way down.

Enjoyed our weed patch, I mean garden :) Although it looks terrible, and every year I envision a Martha Stewart-esk garden of weed free, beauty and bounty. It always looks like crap, who has time to weed like mad man! Never judge a book by its cover- We get some fabulous produce from that little garden. And corn that could beat Harward Farms any day... hehe.

Lund Family Reunion...condensed...(really I did condense)
...at least our heads are turned in the general direction of the camera, for us that's pretty good...I'll take it!We had a little family reunion here in Utah this last weekend, and it was SO FUN! the best part of being around home was being able to put my rootbeer chuggin', treat eaters down in their own beds at night...so that there was some amount of sleep being had. All my sibs and their kids came and we did a Lagoon day, we rode the sundance lift, we went to Thanksgiving Point Gardens, hung out in AF canyon, went swimming and BBQ'ed to our hearts content! Gavin and Ev had a blast with all their cousins. Here are some pics of the week, and I truly did try and condense them:)

S-P-A-S-T-I-C!

Spazziness (it could be a word...) seems to play a prominent role in my life these days... (refer to an older post about a sad young woman and a jalapeno...) I was delving into some much needed yard work yesterday, taking advantage of the one day of spring that we have seen this year, the boys were enjoying worms and dirt and the sensation of sand being poured over each others heads; when the accident occurred.
I had filled my wheelbarrow to the brim with what we affectionately call poop dirt. Dirt mulch fertilizer stuff. I was about to tip the load into the garden bed when the strap on my three year old dollar flip flops snapped launching me sideways. Overcome with the load of poop dirt, I tipped, the wheel barrow falling on top of me pinning my leg and slicing my toe and apparently I had the good fortune of hitting the ground the exact time a bee of some kind was in the grass...yes I got stung on the leg as I hit the ground...I have the itching sting today to prove it! seriously who does this stuff, or maybe people do but they don't choose to blog about it, hmmm...anywho--
My sweet Gavin ran inside and brought me back all assortments of transformer band aids to help my bleeding toe, and sat there reassuring me that I would eventually be O.K. Then he says, "Mom, you should eat some cookie dough, that will make you feel all better." ME: "Hmmm that probably would make me feel better, good idea Gav." GAV: "I hurt my finger at Grandma Nash's house the other day and she said cookie dough makes everything feel better, and I ate some and I was all better mom!"
Thank goodness for cookie dough!
